There is one thing that is really puzzling me in the case that has opened against ANCYL President Julius Malema.

Why would he, a man permanently under the spotlight, get involved in physical contact?

Firstly he has umpteen bodyguards because of the nature of his role within the volatile ANCYL. If he wanted someone sorted out he could just stand back.

Secondly he knows people are dying for him to make a mistake, which includes not only his political opponents, but even those within the ANCYL seeking to replace him. This in addition to fact that he is before the court on hate speech charges even now.

Now I know many of us like to take the Mickey at the ANCYL president’s expense but this seems over the top.

Guaranteed it turns out to be a nothing charge or a case of blowing up a minor incident.

I’ve been wrong before.
