Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment, having completed their acquisition of Manchester City yesterday, moved immediately to upstage City’s local rivals Manchester United by bidding in excess of 30m UKP for Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov.

By the time you read this article you will know whether City or United (more likely) have sealed the transfer.

What is exciting for the neutrals (myself included in as far as the Premiership goes) is that City now join Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and United as teams with the wherewithal to sustain a league title bid.

Never one for sitting on the fence, herewith my final top six:

Champions: Chelsea (Scolari has an awesome squad that won’t be stopped this time)
Man United (Depends whether they land Berbatov and his impact)
Man City (Good manager, exciting young team)
Arsenal (Best manager but those babies won’t stay the distance)
Liverpool (Great club, horrible manager)
Wigan (My dark horse will climb after bad start)

Relegated: Stoke
West Brom
Hull

Same three down that came up unless they find big investors quickly.

Let’s see how close or far off I am come end of season.
