Remember feeling inspired?

I do. I remember feeling inspired a lot as a kid and even as a teenager — there were all these people to aspire to be like, all these things to learn, all this world out there.

The problem is, once you enter the world you have to pretend you know what you’re doing, and a lot of the time I think that reduces our potential for inspiration.

Which is why I think TED is so cool. TED is a website of ‘inspired talks by the world’s greatest thinkers and doers‘.

You have to have high speed internet, alas, but if you do you can watch videos of talks given on a number of fascinating themes — Tales of Invention, How the Mind Works, What Makes Us Happy, Not Business as Usual, Unconventional Explanations — the list goes on, and the speakers are all witty and informed and, quite frankly, inspiring.
