Matthias Pauwels

Matthias Pauwels is a Belgian cultural and political philosopher who has been living and working in South Africa for the past 15 years. His current research focuses on the entanglement of aesthetics and politics in contemporary South African art practices, popular protest movements and radical decolonial politics. He is a research fellow at North-West University’s school of philosophy, the University of Johannesburg’s philosophy department and Unisa’s department of art and music.
