I’m considering starting a business and selling them.

While I’m often told I wear rose-tinted glasses (in a somewhat scornful manner, usually), it never bothers me. Why? Because I’m doing it on purpose.

Here, then, a few of my favourite things about seeing the world through rose-tinted glasses:

  • The world looks better than if you’re looking through the cold glass of reality.
  • There’s no need to get caught up in media flurries of bad news.
  • You’re not expected to get pissed off at people all the time (mostly for having different opinions to you).
  • It’s a funny thing, but if you expect good things from the world, they often come to you.
  • Yes, life is full of disaster and heartbreak and illness. It’s also full of beauty and love. If you’re only ever focused on the negative half of things, how will you ever help anyone? Nobody wants to be pitied. Keeping your energy up means you have more energy to give others …
  • So! Have I sold you on the idea? Do you want a pair?
