Trying to find rhyme or reason with the SABC

and SABC steals the show

in this week’s ep, watch Zapiro’s doccie get the boot

and see how the SABC claims M&G stole the loot

last month, as we all remember, Isidingo wanted to dash

claiming this SA darling never received any of the cash

then Snuki pitched up to deliver his lines for the show

at first announcing

then renouncing

finally pouncing

like a true fat cat

making a big stink only to look around for the industry rat

how glad we are that another episode gets to play out on the public stage

God bless the soapie genre and the worldwide information age

for allowing these characters so Bald and Beautiful

to act out the Days of their Lies

complete with rehearsed gestures and a glint in their eyes

Yes it’s true, we weren’t deceived, we were all privy to the act

but now that the credits are rolling, we can’t but help choke on the fact

that Vuka Sizwe! we must do or pay the current going rate

R1.5 billion, I believe, is what will be billed by state

because they gave the SABC a licence to steal from the public pocket

but didn’t give them the mandate to shout: Pull the damn plug from the socket!

(By the way, on any other given day, doesn’t this saga smack of SAA?)
